Vecna Robotics Impresses Military End-Users with Innovative Products at NDIA Ground Robotics Conference

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Vecna Robotics’ new generation of innovative robotics hardware attracted significant interest at the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Ground Robotics Conference, held on March 22-24, 2011. One of the highlights at the conference was Vecna’s Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), a hot-swappable end-effector tool system for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots. Demonstrations of ATC’s simple controls and environmentally robust design impressed many of the EOD robot operators in attendance and sparked feedback dialogues about the ATC’s unique advantages in field operations. Military users marveled at the ease and speed of tool swapping, noting the ATC’s clear superiority over other similar technologies. “End-user evaluation and feedback is critical for successful product development,” said Vecna’s President and CTO, Daniel Theobald. “Vecna greatly values the opportunities to collaborate directly with the brave men and women on the front lines of our armed forces.
