CAMBRIDGE, MA – Vecna CTO Daniel Theobald recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to join other leaders from the Boston area in a roundtable meeting of the White House Business Council. Roundtable participants were welcomed by Michael Strautmanis, Deputy Assistant to the President and Counselor for Strategic Engagement, before receiving an economic briefing from Mark Doms, Chief Economist in the U. Mr. Theobald and his fellow Bostonians then participated in a discussion on job creation and economic competitiveness that included contributions from Steven Van Roekel and Lisa Brown of the White House’s Office of Management and Budget; Rima Cohen of the Department of Health and Human Services; and Dorval Carter of the FTA.

After a brief break, the group reconvened to hear a presentation on public/private partnerships from Brad Cooper Executive Director of Joining Forces, White House and Sam Cass, Assistant White House Chef and Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Initiatives. The meeting concluded with a discussion on further partnership led by Ari Matusiak, Executive Director of the White House Business Council. With his Boston colleagues, Mr. Theobald offered suggestions and expressed concerns during the discussion in order to generate ideas for policy improvements at the national level. Reflecting on his participation in this event, Mr. Theobald observed, “This meeting was a valuable opportunity to join voices with local colleagues in providing feedback to national decision makers. It was also rewarding to have Vecna recognized by the White House as a company with an influential and innovative role to play in the future of our nation.”
