To Celebrate National Nurses Week, Vecna Recognizes Jenn Cook, RN
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Each year from May 6 to May 12, the American Nurses Association celebrates National Nurses Week to recognize nursing professionals across the country for their roles as advocates, leaders, and care-givers. National Nurses Week falls between National Nurses Day (May 6) and the birthday of Florence Nightingale (May 12). Vecna Medical is proud to work with and support nursing staff across the country through our patient self-service and infection surveillance solutions, and Vecna acknowledges the crucial role that nurses play in ensuring the successful implementation and operation of our healthcare technologies.
During this week-long celebration of nurses, Vecna is pleased to recognize one team member whose career originated in and remains linked to the nursing profession. Jenn Cook, Vecna’s Director of Clinical Solutions, began her career as a staff nurse in medical/surgical and critical care units. She gradually transitioned into infection control and epidemiology and became the Director of Infection Control/Emergency Preparedness at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Cook has also worked as a Project Manager for the Delmarva Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of health and care in communities in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She has also published in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy.
Prior to becoming Vecna’s Director of Clinical Solutions, Ms. Cook utilized her talents and professional expertise as a clinical analyst for Vecna. In her current role as Director of Clinical Solutions, Ms. Cook advises and oversees the clinical design of Vecna Medical’s QC PathFinder® electronic infection surveillance and pharmacy stewardship software. She also trains QC PathFinder’s end users, including infection preventionists, pharmacists, quality improvement officers, nurses, and physicians. With this background in clinical and commercial expertise, Ms. Cook remains dedicated to providing quality care for patients. Ms. Cook has stated, “My mission is to continue to work with healthcare providers and healthcare workers in striving to compassionately provide quality care for all patients.” Vecna is proud to count Jenn Cook as a team member and to recognize her contributions to the nursing and infection prevention field.
