Vecna Cares Sponsors Charitable 5K Road Race

COLLEGE PARK, MD, – Vecna Technologies, Inc. sponsored its 6th annual College Park Cares 5K (CPC5K) charitable road race to benefit community health. Over 200 runners and 40 private and corporate sponsors contributed donations, raffles, and prizes. Funds raised by over 200 runners and sponsors will benefit a number of charities within Prince George’s County. The primary recipient for these contributions is Dimensions Healthcare Systems, the largest non-profit healthcare provider in Prince George’s County. The high-tech, chip-timed race took place on a USA Track and Field certified course along the banks of Lake Artemesia. Registration featured Vecna’s own vKiosk®, a self-check-in portal used in hospitals throughout the United States. For this event, the kiosks reported the racers’ names, ages, bib numbers, and times for ease in reporting outcomes and tracking statistics. Other participants chose to take part in the Kids’ Fun Run and the 2.4K walk. The race was organized through Vecna Cares Charitable Trust™ (Vecna Cares), the qualified 501(c)(3) charitable arm of Vecna Technologies, Inc., whose goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and community involvement.
