Vecna and VGo among MassTLC Leadership Awards finalists
Last night, the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) announced finalists for a number of categories including CTO of the Year and Innovative Product of the Year.
Vecna’s Co-Founder and CTO, Daniel Theobald, was named among the honorees for CTO of the Year. This award recognizes the CTO who has served as an outstanding leader and team-builder, developed innovative technologies resulting in measured successes for their company, and has provided continued support to clients and partners ensuring their technological needs are met.
This year, Theobald has received recognition for his efforts in rallying the Massachusetts robotics community around establishing MassRobotics, an incubator/accelerator for robotics startups and spin-offs. In addition,Theobald has worked to involve the greater robotics ecosystem in establishing interoperability standards for facility and fleet integration.
The VGo robot also earned a spot as a finalist in the category of Innovative Product of the Year – Robotics. This award recognizes a unique or improved product with major impact to customers or consumers. This year, VGo has grown in impacting distance learning for students who are undergoing treatment. VGo is used to help home- or hospital-bound students attend school remotely, and interact with teachers and peers.
