Vecna Provides Platinum Sponsorship at the MIT Career Fair for a Fifth Year
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Vecna Technologies will be on campus at MIT on Friday, September 21, from 10 am to 4 pm to greet students and prospective employees at the 2012 Career Fair. Vecna is a Platinum Sponsor for this year’s event and will be welcoming interested MIT students at their booth in the front lobby of the Johnson Athletic Center. On Tuesday, September 18, Vecna will also host an information session for potential applicants on MIT campus in RM 6-120 from 7 to 8 pm.
In addition to showcasing exciting full-time career opportunities at this year’s fair, Vecna will also be highlighting opportunities to work with the company and MIT’s Public Service Center on paid and volunteer internships. These internships deal with global health improvement initiatives in Africa and local hands-on technology programs in K-12 schools.
Len Cabeceiras, Vecna’s Recruiting Director, is a veteran participant at the MIT Career Fair and is excited to once again visit campus. “We look forward to this event every year,” says Len. “Vecna was founded by MIT graduates. Through the years, we have been pleased to count many MIT alumni among our team members. We know the talent that MIT produces, and we are always eager to have more exceptional MIT graduates join us.” Len goes on to note, “The annual career fair and the events surrounding it are a great opportunity for Vecna to meet potential hires and to continue to spread the word about our company on campus.”
Deborah Theobald, Vecna’s CEO and an MIT alumna, agrees. She observes, “Vecna combines the stability of an established company with the excitement of a start-up. Our team is motivated by ingenuity and a desire to improve mobile, web, and robotics technologies in the healthcare industry. We are looking for passionate, flexible, and smart team members to grow the company and to allow us to continue converting fresh ideas into game-changing solutions. We know we can find these new team members at MIT.”
Several Vecna team members, many of whom are MIT alumni, will be on campus for both the information session and the career fair. These team members will be available to field questions and to talk in greater detail about Vecna’s exciting products, which include a comprehensive set of patient self-service offerings; our award-winning QC PathFinder® infection surveillance and pharmacy stewardship software; and our QC Bot® hospital logistics robot. Interested students are encouraged to attend the information session and to visit the Vecna team during the career fair.
