Vecna CEO to speak at RoboBusiness 2011 Leadership Summit

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Vecna's CEO, Deborah Theobald, will participate as a panel member at the RoboBusiness 2011 Leadership Summit on November 3 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. This seventh annual convocation of executive-level leadership provides a forum for the robotics industry’s investors, key developers, and end-users to share best practices and expectations for business development in the rapidly evolving automation market.

Ms. Theobald will speak on the panel The New Robotics Market: Lessons from the Front Line. This panel of CEOs includes major players and emerging stars in the robotics arena. The discussion will focus on the nascent market of service and mobile robots as it diverges from the traditional industrial and military applications of robotic technology. Vecna has driven the development of advanced, low-cost technologies, expanding the domain of mobile robots from industry to service-oriented applications in homes, workplaces, and the world at large.

Ms. Theobald will speak to Vecna's experience and lessons learned from its entrance into this exciting new market through the development of QC Bot®, Vecna's autonomous hospital delivery robot, and other mobile robotic platforms, controllers, and software.

“The technologies that support robots in the transition from industrial applications to roles in service are rapidly maturing," said Ms. Theobald. "Vecna is genuinely excited about the bright future for the service and consumer robotics markets and their potential to improve daily life and work across many sectors."

This CEO-led panel session will run from 2:00 PM to 2:40 on Thursday, November 3.
