The Hiring Process
At Vecna, we put a great deal of trust in every person we hire, and all our team members are well compensated. Obviously we must have a very careful hiring process to ensure that only people who are absolutely committed to the principles of integrity and service, and who have superior technical abilities become part of our team. If you are excited about getting involved with Vecna, and feel that your core values are in line with Excellence, Integrity and Service, then we encourage you to pursue employment with Vecna by taking the following steps:

  1. Complete the On-line Application
Before attempting to complete the on-line application, you should gather the following information:
    • Employment history
    • Educational background
    • References
    • Resume
    • Cover Letter

  2. Application Review
A member of the Vecna team will carefully review the submitted application. If it is determined that you meet the basic qualifications of the position, your application will advance to the next step.

  3. Reference Check
Your references will be contacted by email. References can fill out an on-line survey, send a letter, or request a phone call.

  4. Technical Interview
Once the application has been approved, we will select candidates for a technical interview. The interview will take 15-30 minutes and will be conducted over the phone.

  5. Programming Evaluation (Click here to go to the Programming Evaluation)
If you are successful in the technical interview, we will send you a code in order to take our on-line programming evaluation. Due to the highly competitive nature of employment with Vecna, we require all our technical candidates to complete a programming evaluation. The evaluation consists of a series of problems made up of source code that you either fix or modify to do something slightly different. During the test you can compile and run the code, and you'll have access to javadoc as well. The entire evalution should take about 1 hour; however, there is no time limit.

  6. Site Visit/Second Round Interviews
For those candidates who have interviewed to this point and are recommended for continued consideration, the final step is a site visit. The candidate will have the opportunity to see the main office and meet the Vecna staff. This site visit will give the candidate a chance to evaluate Vecna's working atmosphere and company culture. The site visit will also include interviews with a member of our Human Resources staff, and with a member of the Upper Management. The interviews will give you a chance to ask any questions about Vecna in addition to us finding out more about you, your talents and interests. You can prepare for this interview by exploring our web site and reviewing our information on the "What We Do" page. A copy of your official transcript must be brought to the onsite visit, or fax/mailed to us beforehand.

  7. Offer
Working closely with the HR department, you will be able to negotiate an offer for employment at Vecna. After a verbal agreement is reached, an official offer letter will be sent to you by email and/or post. Keep in mind that offers are negotiable. If there is something not quite right about your offer, please let us know to give us the opportunity to make it right. Also if you need more time than discussed to make the decision, please let us know.
